If I were a marketing director, I’d invest less in TV ads and more in ads placed in buses (or airplanes). A sofa potato and someone riding a bus are similar in terms of sitting and staring blankly into the abyss. But the difference is, bus people are headed somewhere. A large ratio of them are travelers, workers, people with direction. But they also need a reason to smile. They need good news…something that makes them curious, interested. When I ride the bus, there are too many dismayed looking despondents, myself included. We’re tired. Share your product with us - give us something to talk about. Make our day. The couch potatoes can wait.
